NCDP Statement Honoring Veterans Day

Today North Carolina Democratic Party Chair Bobbie Richardson and Captain Ryan McGill USMC, chair of NCDP’s Veterans & Military Families Caucus released the following statement in honor of Veterans Day:

“On Veterans Day we honor the service, dedication, and bravery of the millions of Americans who have vowed to protect and defend our great nation against all enemies, foreign and domestic. North Carolina is the proud home to one of the largest military and veteran populations in the country, and the contributions of these North Carolinians make our country and state stronger.

“We would be remiss if we also did not honor the important role that military families have when a loved one chooses to serve. When one person serves, the entire family serves with them. We are humbled and grateful for their sacrifice.

“Democrats are committed to providing opportunities for service members to succeed when their service ends. This means expanding economic opportunities and ensuring access to high quality health care. These goals are personal to President Biden and the First Lady who know what it is like to have a loved one serve. That’s why the Biden-Harris Administration is committed to addressing employment and entrepreneurship, military and veteran child education, and health and well-being for veteran families.

“Today, we honor our veterans and thank them for protecting our freedoms. We honor their service and renew our commitment to fighting for the care and support they deserve.”
