NCDP and Rep. Deborah Ross Release Joint Statement on Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Visit to North Carolina

Today, North Carolina Democratic Party Chair Dr. Bobbie Richardson and Representative Deborah Ross have released the following joint statement regarding right-wing extremist Marjorie Taylor Greene’s attendance at the Wake County GOP’s gala later tonight:

“North Carolina Democrats remain resolute in our commitment to preserving the integrity of our elections. Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene’s words and actions in support of fringe conspiracies that deny the legitimacy of our elections strike at the core of our democracy. Her continued association with individuals who were directly involved in the Capitol insurrection speaks volumes about her willingness to undermine our Constitution for personal and partisan gain.

“Majorie Taylor Greene’s presence in North Carolina at the invitation of the Republican Party is a clear indication of what North Carolina Republicans stand for. Adopting her ideology is a danger to our democracy. We must not allow Marjorie Taylor Greene’s extremist rhetoric and positions to spread here in North Carolina. Our democracy is sacred and every North Carolinian deserves to have their voice heard and their vote counted.”
