NCDP and DNC Host Community Listening Event in Robeson County

Today, Democratic National Committee Chair (DNC) Jaime Harrison joined North Carolina Democratic Party (NCDP) Chair Bobbie Richardson for a community listening event in Lumberton, North Carolina.

As the 2022 midterms ramp up, the DNC and NCDP are continuing to invest in and carry out year-round organizing in Robeson County in an effort to make direct outreach to the Lumbee Tribe and voters across the county.

DNC Chair Jaime Harrison and NCDP Chair Bobbie Richardson released this joint statement following the community listening event:

“There’s still work to do, but here’s the bottom line: President Biden and Democrats are delivering for Robeson County and all of North Carolina while Republicans are pushing an extreme MAGA agenda and standing in the way of progress. Republicans’ plan would take away jobs and hurt local economies across the country, defunding jobs for public school teachers, police, and firefighters – critical members of our community. Ted Budd has said he agrees with the major points of this plan, too.

“We need to do everything to protect our Democratic majorities in Washington and get Cheri Beasley to the Senate and Democrats elected up and down the ballot in North Carolina, including sending Charles Graham to Congress, and ensure Governor Cooper is able to maintain veto power by electing Democrats to the State Legislature.”
