Pat McCrory is now refusing to answer the media on the ongoing scrutiny into GOP mega-donor and U.S. Postmaster General Louis DeJoy potentially breaking campaign finance laws with an illegal “straw donor” scheme. As the FBI leads an investigation and a North Carolina watchdog group is urging local law enforcement to consider their own investigation, “CBS17 wants to know if Pat McCrory knew about these donations and is waiting for his response.”
“With Pat McCrory increasingly under the microscope over this straw donor scandal, his media evasion about what he knew about this corrupt pattern of political donations is not a good sign for his struggling campaign,” said NCDP spokeswoman Kate Frauenfelder. “As Pat McCrory’s corruption problem grows, how long does he think he can avoid answering basic questions about his record of taking shady campaign cash?”
