For years, DC insider Michael Whatley has cozied up to state Rep. Keith Kidwell – an Oath Keeper who recently introduced a bill to legalize using deadly force against women who seek an abortion. 

Michael Whatley is also an anti-abortion extremist who has championed banning abortion in North Carolina and nationwide. His record includes:

• Whatley called abortion “infanticide” and said he was “proud to be the most pro-life chair in the history of the Republican Party.”

• Whatley was “proud” when Roe v. Wade was overturned and paved the way for North Carolina to pass a severe abortion ban with limited exceptions for rape, incest, and life of the mother, which Whatley called “responsible,” “reasonable,” and “mainstream.” 

• Whatley is endorsed by a dark money anti-abortion PAC that has stated that it exclusively supports candidates who back a national abortion ban. 

• Under Whatley’s leadership as chair, the North Carolina Republican Party also adopted a platform with a plank that would ban abortion with no exceptions.
