Meet Your Candidates:
Our online voter tool is up and running! Enter your address at ncdp.org/candidates to see all the Democrats on your ballot. It’s a one stop shop to learn more about the candidates and make a plan to vote. We encourage you to share the link and the graphic to educate voters and encourage participation in your community!
Amendment: Income Tax Cap:
The legislature this year approved three constitutional amendment proposals that will appear on the ballot. The measures would limit the ability of both the state and its local governments to raise revenue while locking in outsized tax breaks for the state’s richest residents.
The first proposal, created via Senate Bill 1080, would ban the state legislature from raising the personal income tax rate above the 3.49 percent level that is scheduled to go into effect next year. Currently, the state constitution has a maximum personal income tax rate cap of 7 percent, so this proposal would cut the cap in half. This means that no general assembly could ever tax the rich, even if we needed them to provide services for people in the future.

- Oct. 9: Voter registration deadline (5 p.m.)
- Oct. 15: In-person early voting begins. Same-day registration is available.
- Oct. 20: Absentee ballot request deadline (5 p.m.)
- Oct. 31: In-person early voting ends (3 p.m.)
- Nov. 3: Election Day. (Polls Close at 7:30 p.m)
- Nov. 3: Absentee ballot return deadline (7:30 p.m.)
Donald Visits NC:
Donald Trump is rolling into Gastonia today, and y’all, he’s nervous. He should be. Gas prices just hit a new high as his war with Iran drags on, and he’s propping up a man even his own party can’t stop questioning.
