As “diesel hit[s] a record price” and high gas prices squeeze North Carolina families during Labor Day Weekend, DC insider and Big Oil lobbyist Michael Whatley is continuing to push for the Iran War, saying just this week that “I think that is where we need to be” while his oil and gas stocks spiked.
Associated Press: “Diesel hit a record price in the U.S. on Friday, soaring to an average of $5.85 a gallon for the first time as the six-month war with Iran disrupts the world’s flow of fuel. […] More expensive fuel is increasing bills for businesses across sectors — some of which have already passed on costs to consumers in the form of added fees on online orders and packages in the mail. And shoppers may see more and more sticker shock trickle down to store shelves.”
WLOS: “Gas prices are continuing to rise across North Carolina, leaving some drivers in Asheville reconsidering what they can afford as higher costs take a larger share of their paychecks.”
Owning up to $1.39 million in oil and gas stocks, Whatley is putting his bottom line ahead of the families, farmers and truckers that are left paying the price.
