New Poll Shows North Carolinians support Governor Cooper, Democratic Candidates

Raleigh – A new Meredith Poll released today shows North Carolinians are proud of the work Governor Cooper is doing for our state and are more likely to support Democratic candidates for the NC General Assembly and Congress.
  • Cooper +32: More than half of North Carolina voters (55%) approve of the job Governor Roy Cooper is doing, compared to only 23% who disapprove.
  • Democrats +11 in Generic NCGA Ballot, up 1 pt since August: 48% of voters said they would vote for a generic Democrat vs. 37% who would vote for a generic Republican.
  • Democrats +11 in Generic Congressional Ballot, up nearly 5 pts since August: 49% of voters said they would vote for a generic Democratic vs. 38% who would vote for a generic Republican.
“With the election only five days away, Democratic enthusiasm isn’t going anywhere,” NCDP Executive Director Kimberly Reynolds said. “North Carolinians know that health care, public education, and clean water are on the ballot this year and they’re voting for the Democratic candidates who will put the issues, not special interests, first.”
