“This morning, North Carolina woke up to news of the deadliest mass shooting in our nation’s history. Our hearts go out to the people of Las Vegas, the brave first responders, and everyone affected by this disgusting act of terror.
“Waking up to mass shootings is too common in today’s America, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Our leaders here in North Carolina and across the country must find the courage needed to confront this scourge and the resolve necessary to fight it. Whether through expanded background checks or another meaningful legislative reform, our elected officials must act. Until then, mornings like today will continue to be too common.”
