NCDP Statement on GOP Changes to Early Voting

Raleigh – North Carolina Democratic Party Chairman Wayne Goodwin released the following statement after the North Carolina General Assembly passed new changes to early voting, which cut the popular final Saturday of early voting and may strain election workers and resources:

“This law will make it harder for North Carolinians to vote, plain and simple. Republicans tried to rig our elections before, and they’re doing the same now. It’s no coincidence this effort comes right before Republicans face a bruising election season and a blue wave of fired up voters. The only way to protect the right to vote is to break the Republican supermajority this fall.”
