NCDP Announces Democratic Presidential Candidate Congressman Seth Moulton to Keynote 2019 NCDP Unity Dinner

Raleigh – Today, the North Carolina Democratic Party announced Democratic presidential candidate and Massachusetts Congressman Seth Moulton will keynote the 2019 Unity Dinner, the party’s largest annual celebration of North Carolina Democrats and our Democratic values. The event will be held on the evening of Saturday, June 8th, at 7pm at the McKimmon Center at North Carolina State University.

“North Carolina Democrats are thrilled to have presidential hopeful Seth Moulton join us for our 2019 Unity Dinner,” NCDP Chairman Wayne Goodwin said. “Control of the White House runs through North Carolina, and North Carolina Democrats are fired up to hold onto the Governor’s mansion, elect a new Democratic Senator, break Republicans’ grip on the General Assembly, and send a new leader to the White House.”

Seth Moulton is a father, husband, Iraq War veteran, Congressman, and Democratic presidential candidate. He now serves the 6th District of Massachusetts, with an office just ten minutes from where he grew up, but he first began serving our country when he was 22.

“I am excited to address North Carolina Democrats and talk about how we bring our country together and beat Donald Trump,” Congressman Moulton said. “Democrats will only win if we play everywhere. We can turn North Carolina blue, and I look forward to talking about my vision and how we do so.”

In addition to the keynote address, the Unity Dinner will feature speeches by North Carolina Democratic leaders, including Governor Roy Cooper, Chief Justice Beasley, and Rep. Sydney Batch (HD-37). The event will also feature speeches from NC-03 Democratic nominee Allen Thomas and NC-09 Democratic nominee Dan McCready, and videos from several additional Democratic presidential candidates.

“North Carolina Democrats are focused on investing in our public schools, expanding access to affordable health care, and creating good-paying jobs,” said Governor Roy Cooper.  “I look forward to celebrating our shared Democratic values as we look ahead to the important work before us.”
