NC Democrats Knock 24,000 Doors in Largest Weekend of Action to Date

Raleigh – This weekend, North Carolina Democrats hosted the most successful grassroots weekend this cycle, with more than 800 volunteers knocking 24,000 doors from Sylva to Southern Shores as part of Break the Majority’s third – and largest – Weekend of Action. To date, 5,000 volunteers have knocked more than 137,000 doors this election.

At more than 40 canvass launches across the state, strong Democratic challengers like Rachel Hunt (HD-103), Wesley Harris (HD-105), Natasha Marcus (SD-41), Lisa Mathis (HD-51), Sam Searcy (SD-17) and Julie von Haefen (HD-36) addressed fired-up supporters before volunteers hit the pavement to talk to voters in their neighborhoods about the candidates they support and the need to break the Republican supermajority this November.

“Momentum continues to build for Democrats as more and more of our friends, families, and neighbors head out into the community to discuss why we need to break the Republican supermajority and bring balance back to Raleigh,” said NCDP Executive Director Kimberly Reynolds. “This was the most successful weekend for Democrats this cycle, and shows that there’s a groundswell of support for new leaders who will put our public schools and people’s health before corporate bottom lines.”
