Phil Berger’s latest moves show a pattern we’ve seen far too often: putting political agendas ahead of the people’s voice. With Republicans scrambling for Donald Trump’s blessing, Berger falls in line—willing to redraw North Carolina’s maps to protect partisan power, no matter the cost to our democracy.
That’s right: Berger is rigging our maps AGAIN, because apparently they’ve found even more ways to gerrymander North Carolina than they did in 2016, 2018, 2020, and 2022. He’s literally willing to throw away your voice and our fair representation for Donnie’s endorsement. As he pushes through redistricting plans designed to benefit Republicans, North Carolinians are left on the sidelines.
Power over fairness, control over representation, and loyalty over democracy—this is Berger’s vision for North Carolina.
Y’all, I’m not going to lie—2026 is beyond critical. If we want leaders who actually prioritize the voices of North Carolinians instead of political games, we need Democrats up and down the ballot: leaders who will fight for fair maps, protect voting rights, and put YOU first.
The Voting Purge 👻
Spooky season may bring ghosts, ghouls, and goblins—but the real horror is partisan leaders trying to erase voters. Thanks to Jefferson Griffin’s refusal to accept he lost an election, nearly 80,000 eligible voters are now at risk of being removed from the rolls—simply for exercising their right to vote.
Griffin and his Republican allies are weaponizing the state’s Board of Elections to undermine our democracy. Instead of ensuring fair access to the ballot, they are putting partisan politics above the voices of North Carolinians, threatening to silence voters across the state.
We’re not letting this nightmare play out. Our teams and volunteers are working tirelessly to restore voters at risk of being purged, making sure everyone eligible has the chance to make their voice heard.

Government Shutdown 🔒
Republicans control the White House, the Senate, and the House—and yet, despite holding all the power, they’re failing the American people. Instead of governing, they’re spinning lies, posting deep fake videos, and threatening to cut healthcare for millions of Americans.
While Republicans are trying to distract, Democrats are unified and fighting to cancel devastating cuts, lower costs, and protect healthcare for everyone who depends on it. The truth is clear: the cuts Republicans are proposing to Medicaid and the ACA would be catastrophic, and the American people know it. 71% of Americans oppose cuts to Medicaid, including 73% of Independents and even 55% of Republicans. Behind closed doors, Congressional Republicans admit these cuts are unpopular—but they continue to push them anyway.
If Republicans have their way, If Republicans have their way, nearly a million North Carolinians will see their healthcare premiums skyrocket by $672 annually, simply because the GOP failed to extend ACA premium tax credits in their budget plan. Meanwhile, over 4 million federal workers aren’t getting paid, nearly 2 million troops are going without pay, and families across the country are left waiting for leadership they will never get from Republicans.
It’s no wonder 59% of Americans blame Donald Trump for this shutdown, even as he deflects responsibility. While Republicans create chaos, Democrats are fighting for healthcare that every American can afford, for working families who deserve stability, and for a government that actually works for the people.
This isn’t about the politics—it’s about survival. Republicans may own this shutdown, but Democrats are standing up for the millions of Americans they’re trying to hurt.
