- Organizations funded by Variety Wholesalers are systematically trying to take control of the North Carolina Legislature.
- Variety Wholesalers is owned by the Pope family of North Carolina. Art Pope, a former right-wing Republican legislator, is senior vice president, secretary, treasurer, and a member of the board of directors at Variety Wholesalers Inc.
- Variety Wholesalers has directed hundreds of thousands of dollars of corporate money into political organizations known as 527s and 501 (c)4s such as Real Jobs NC and Civitas Action
- These organizations have pumped hundreds of thousands of dollars into misleading political ads aimed at North Carolina Democrats.
- Millionaires are working to determine who will represent you (or not!) in the North Carolina Legislature
