NCDP Chairman David Parkers Statement on the NC House of Representatives Vote to Sustain Governor Perdues Veto of HB 351
RALEIGH – "The House Democrats united stand for full voting rights in North Carolina will assure that some 400,000 elderly and other voters will be heard at the polls. The Democratic Party continues to support strong penalties for voter fraud.
Although it is curious that Republican House leader Skip Stam had a change of heart and voted with the Governor in permitting voters to voteobstacle free, we can only assume that he has decided to advocatefor full voting rights for North Carolinas citizens. We trust that he will not sell out North Carolinas women, youth and elderly voters at some later date. Surely he means what he says and says what he means.
