Congressman Kissell Announces Funding for Scotland County Small Business Incubator
LAURINBURG, NC--Today, Congressman Larry Kissell (NC-08) announced a federal grant to help construct a small business incubator in Laurinburg.  The grant, in the amount of $800,000 has been awarded to the Scotland County Economic Development Corporation through funding provided by the Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration. 
"I'm so pleased to see our tax dollars coming back home to help create jobs and promote small businesses right here in Scotland County," said Kissell. "This is government working at its best--when folks at every level of government can come together to help our small business owners and working families by creating good jobs here at home.  I want to commend our local and state officials for their hard work and commitment to making this vision a reality.
The EDA grant is expected to create 60 new jobs, and leverage an additional $2 million in private investment. The incubator will provide stability for economic development through long-term public and private collaboration and will help support the growth of existing and emerging industries.
