Women of Achievement Award
Several female Democratic elected officials were recently honored by the General Federation of Women’s Clubs of North Carolina for their outstanding public service.
The Women of Achievement Awards recognized: State Auditor Beth Wood, State Treasurer Janet Cowell, N.C. Rep. Tricia Cotham, Court of Appeals Judges Linda Stephens and Cheri Beasley.
The annual award recognizes women who have made outstanding contributions in their field and in community service. Eligible nominees must be women who have gained visibility in North Carolina for their contributions.
General Federation of Women’s Clubs of North Carolina is the oldest volunteer service organization in the state. It has about 5,000 members in more than 150 clubs in local communities across the state.
