Leader Hall: New Durham jobs don’t come close to replacing those lost to HB2

Gov. Pat McCrory spent the day touting new jobs in Durham, but failed to point out that the new jobs are a drop in the bucket compared to the jobs lost to his discriminatory bill, HB2. House Democratic Leader Larry Hall made the following statement regarding the economic damage North Carolina has suffered due to HB2:

“While I’m thrilled to bring good-paying new jobs to Durham and North Carolina, we need to be clear that today’s announcement represents a fraction of the jobs lost thanks to HB2. Governor McCrory’s support for this discriminatory bill has already cost our state at least 1,750 jobs and more than $77 million in economic damage. Governor McCrory should take action and repeal HB2 so that job announcements like the one today aren’t the exception, but the rule,” said House Democratic Leader Larry Hall.
